Student Organizations and Societies
B.J. Albritton Ministerial Alliance
The Ministerial Alliance organization is for ministerial students and affords its members an opportunity to enjoy fellowship with other ministers and to participate in a program of spiritual emphasis and training
Choir consists of music students who audition and are selected to make several extended tours and numerous appearances throughout the year. Additionally, the Music Department sponsors selected groups of vocal ensembles (Singers and Overcomers) who represent the College at church, civic, and educational groups throughout various regions of the country.
Cross Act Company Drama Club
The Cross Act Company Drama Club affords members the opportunity to maintain Christian fellowship, establish meaningful student-faculty-community relationships, and share their faith in the Lord through theater. Members are involved in several activities that include two major productions during the year.
Delta Psi Omega
Delta Psi Omega is the National Theater Honor Society. Membership in the Jacksonville College chapter is open to regularly enrolled students who have made significant contributions to the College’s theater program.
JET (Jaguar Effective Teachers)
JET is open to all students interested in pursuing education as a career path. Members have the opportunity for fellowship, collaboration, and learning from guest speakers.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the Academic Honor Society for international junior colleges, hosted by the Alpha Beta Alpha chapter of Jacksonville College. To be invited for membership, a student must be of good moral character with full rights and privileges of citizenship in his/her country, possess recognized qualities of leadership, have established academic excellence according to the faculty, have completed twelve hours of coursework leading to an Associate Degree, and have at least a 3.5 GPA (excluding transfer work).
Student Government Association
Freshmen Class Officers are elected to lead fellow freshmen in activities and events which benefit the class and Jacksonville College. One major event is sponsored by the Freshmen Class during the spring semester. Officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Sophomore Class Officers are elected to lead fellow sophomores in activities and events which will benefit the class and Jacksonville College. One major event is sponsored by the Sophomore Class during the fall semester. Officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society
The Webb Society is designed for students interested in history—with a focus on local and state history. Members have the opportunity to conduct individual and/or collaborative research, perform community service, participate in campus activities, visit historic sites, attend state conferences, and enter award competitions. The Barnwell Anderson Chapter of this organization is named for a highly respected and appreciated instructor who taught for many years at Jacksonville College.
