- Computer
and Internet services are provided by Jacksonville
College to aid students,
faculty and staff in doing research, obtaining
information, and aiding in the educational process.
- Use of these resources
is a privilege, not a right, and permission to
use may be revoked at any time.
- Use
of these resources is available to authorized users
only.
- Use of these resources
must comply with the Christian standards of Jacksonville
College as set forth in the student and faculty
handbooks. This
includes, but is not limited to, receiving or
sending of pornographic, violent, or obscene text, graphics,
video or audio materials, or access to these
types of Internet sites.
- All computers
connected to the Jacksonville College network
must be protected by current antivirus software. Files
which are downloaded from the Internet must be
scanned with virus protection software before
installation or execution. All appropriate
precautions should be taken to detect computer
viruses and prevent their propagation.
- No one
may make modifications to any operating system,
network configuration, individual computer configuration
or setup, display or icons, or programs that
reside on any computer provided by Jacksonville
College.
- No one may destroy,
alter, dismantle, distort or disfigure any data,
information technology, property, or facility.
- All users are
prohibited from sending, or receiving, chain
letters, and sending unsolicited mass email messages (spamming).
- Instant messaging
and Internet games are prohibited on all computers
provided by Jacksonville College.
- Violation of
any of the above may result in disciplinary action
and loss of computer use and network access.
