HEAD COACH and ATHLETIC DIRECTOR LYNN NABI

Coach Lynn Nabi has just completed his second season at Jacksonville College. The veteran coach that has coached at all levels (DI, DII, NJCAA, High school) took over a program that was at the bottom of the league. Coach Nabi and the Lady Jaguars posted a 19-13 season record in 2008 followed by a 20-12 record in 2009. The Lady Jaguars posted a 12-6 conference record to finish third in Region 14 in 2009. The Lady Jaguars advanced to the semifinals of the Region 14 Tournament by deafeating Lon Morris College in 2009. The Lady Jaguars made the playoffs for only the third time in the history of the program and won the program's second tournament conference game. In his first season as coach of the Lady Jaguars the program graduated 7 of the 10 on the roster to play at the next level. Coach Nabi recieved his B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989. He recieved his M.S. from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls in 1991. A 1983 Graduate of Midland Lee High School in Midland, Texas. He lettered in Golf, Baseball and Basketball at Lee.

Coach Nabi was named NJCAA Region 14 Coach of the Year in 2008.

ASST. COACH AMBER TAYLOR

Amber Taylor will enter her first season as an assistant under Coach Lynn Nabi and the Jacksonville College Lady Jaguar basketball program. Amber will serve as recruiting coordinator for the Lady Jags and will also be responsible for team travel, film exchange, and post player development. Taylor joins the staff here at Jacksonville College after serving as the assistant at Paris Junior College where she served as the recruiting coordinator from 2007-2009. In her first season at PJC the Lady Dragons finished with a 9-21 record. After a year of recruiting, she signed the #1 recruiting class in the history of PJC women’s basketball. The lady dragons finished their 2008-2009 season with a record of 14-17 and earned a Region XIV Tournament birth for the first time since 2005. Taylor coached 3 All-Conference honorable mention players and 1 All-Conference player while at PJC. Taylor graduated from Harding University in 2006 with a Master’s of Science in Education and served as the Graduate Assistant coach with Women’s Basketball during her time there. In 2003 she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology/Athletic Training from the University of Central Arkansas. A native of Mountain View, AR, Taylor graduated from Mountain View High School in 1999.  During her time there, Amber received many basketball honors including, 2 time all-conference, all-region, all-state, all-state tournament team, and Arkansas All-Star nominee.

ATHLETIC TRAINER BARRY FRIZZELL

Barry Frizzell, LAT, ATC, CSCS, PTA

Sr. Athletic Trainer, ETMC Rehabilitation Center

Barry begins his thirteenth season caring for the athletes at Jacksonville College.  He is contracted through the ETMC Rehabilitation Center in Tyler, where he also oversees their regional sports medicine program.  He graduated in 1994 from Baylor University with his bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences.  He is licensed by the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers and Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association.  He is also a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  His experience covers many sports including football, basketball, tennis, baseball and softball.  He is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of student athletes.  Barry, and his wife Wendy, have a 6 year old daughter, Megan.
