All Computer users must register at the circulation desk, leaving their I.D. card. You may retrieve your I.D. card when you leave the computer station. Users are not to save their work on the computer harddrive. Users should bring flashdrives for saving their work.
- Computer and Internet services are provided by Jacksonville College-Norman Library to aid students, faculty and staff in doing research, obtaining information, and aiding in the educational process. Use of these resources is a privilege, not a right, and permission to use may be revoked at any time.
- Use of these resources is available to authorized users only.
- Use of these resources must comply with Christian standards of the institution as set forth in the student and faculty handbooks. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving or sending of pornographic, violent, or obscene text, graphics, dating services online, video or audio materials through e-mail programs, or attempting to access these types of Internet sites.
- No one is allowed to put their own software on Jacksonville College/Norman Library computers or make modification to any operating system, network configuration, individual computer configuration or setup, display of icons, or programs that reside on any network or individual computer. This includes adding icons to the desktop or removing icons from the desktop.
- No one may destroy, alter, dismantle, distort or disfigure any data, information technology, property, or facility.
- All users are expected to respect the privacy of other users.
- All users are expected to respect the integrity of computing systems. No user shall intentionally develop or utilize programs that harass other users, breach the security of any computer or computing system, whether on campus or elsewhere, nor damage or alter the software components of a computer or a network, or impact on the normal operations of a computer or network.
- All users are prohibited from sending chain letters or sending unsolicited mass email messages (spamming).
- Instant messenger programs and games are prohibited.
- Violation of any of the above may result in disciplinary action.
