Sonic Drive-In Awards Scholarship

Jacksonville College student, Josh Ross, received a $1000 scholarship from Tim Thompson, manager of the Jacksonville Sonic Drive-In. The local Sonic is a regular supporter of Jacksonville College, both academically and through extra-curricular activities. Sonic annually provides a $1000 scholarship for a Jacksonville College student, helping them pay their tuition, fees, and other college expenses. Sonic also supports the other organizations on campus by hosting a day for members of select organizations to work at Sonic for tips.
Josh Ross, son of Johnnie and Leon Ross of Jacksonville, is a 2003 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He has participated in the Jacksonville College Choir, the Singers, the Men's Quartet, and the Wind Ensemble. He has participated in both major theater productions and several minor theatrical performances this year through the Drama Department and the Cross Act Company. Josh was recently inducted into the Jacksonville College chapter of Delta Psi Omega, the Honor Fraternity for Theater and was also recognized as a Departmental Scholar for Mathematics.
Josh will continue his education next year at Jacksonville College, pursuing both the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees, and plans to major in geoscience.
