The library is a place for study. A quiet atmosphere is to be maintained. Cell Phones must be silenced. Food, drinks or any type of tobacco are not permitted in the library. Patrons are expected to follow commonly accepted rules of etiquette including the observance of the college dress code.

Circulation Desk: The circulation desk serves as an information desk. A staff member is on duty to assist in locating and using library materials and to answer questions.

Student Identification Cards: The student identification card serves as the library card and is never to be loaned to other students. This card must be presented for all library transactions. The library card is held at the desk during the use of computers and other equipment.

Library Catalog: A computer-based card catalog provides an up-to-date index to the library collection. All printed and audio-visual material are cross-referenced by author, title and subject. Materials may be found by using any one of the three ways. The library utilizes the Dewey Decimal classification system.

Photocopy/Printing Services: A photocopier is located in the library: copies are ten cents a page. The college adheres to the united State copyright law. Under given circumstances certain materials may not legally be copied. Please refer to the current Jacksonville College Student Handbook for the student copyright policies.

Computer and Internet Services: Computer and Internet services are provided by Jacksonville College to aid students, faculty, and staff in doing research, obtaining information and aiding in the educational process. Usage of these resources is a privilege, not a right, and permission to use may be revoked at any time.
